As from April 2010 energy companies will pay a Feed in Tariff, "FIT" for all energy produced by a PV solar system, whether it is consumed at your property or exported back to the grid.
Anyone in England, Scotland or Wales who installs a PV solar system is eligible to claim the tariff which produces less than 5MW of power.
To benefit from the Feed-in Tariffs you are required to use an approved MCS installer. The system provider will act as your agent and handle the necessary paper work and certification which is required to claim the tariff on your behalf.
CJ Electrical (Ipswich) Ltd Solar Division has been set up to make the process of installing PV solar systems and benefitting from the tariffs as easy as possible.
The starting rate will last for 25 years. The rates are set to rise with inflation annually. Feed in tariff income is tax free. An additional tariff from 3p per KW will be paid for energy fed into the grid. PV installation benefit from a reduced VAT rate of 5%.
Below are typical examples of the likely return of a of various size PV panel systems.
This is an estimated return on investment for guidance only, it should not be considered as a guarantee of performance. The estimated annual benefit has been calculated based upon the Government's standard assessment procedure for energy rating of buildings (SAP) & guide lines for Solar Photovoltaic cells.
| Solar PV system size | 0.00 kW |
| Total FIT payment year 1 @ p per unit | £ 0.00 |
| Total export payment year 1 @ p per unit Assuming that % of PV electricity exported to grid. |
£ 0.00 |
| Electricity saved year 1 @ p per unit Assuming % of PV generated electricity is consumed by your household appliances. |
